A majority of the materials are ephemera and collateral, invitations and programs, fliers, and emails. This is an artificial collection created when Frederick W. Dumschott wrote his book Washington College. Since then, each year materials are added to the collection. This collection is organized by academic year.

Many of the letter books have the name of his wife, Margaret Nicols, on the inside cover.
